18 Aug Westside Ironworks Inks Boutique, Plans Openings Soon
There’s good news afoot for fans of Atlanta’s Westside, boutique shopping and rapidly prepared fried chicken. The developer behind Westside Ironworks tells Curbed the Howell Mill Road redevelopment has signed a popular Savannah fashion boutique, as plans move forward to build a Chick-fil-A from scratch around the corner. The boutique, Villa Savannah, will take a 2,700-square-foot storefront, bringing Ironworks’ occupancy to 92 percent before construction is complete. The retailer offers “one-of-a-kind fashion, home décor, jewelry and gifts, sourced from Los Angeles, that are characterized as modern with a twist of tradition — both edgy and refined,” according to a press release. It marks one of several first-to-market scores at Ironworks, while the Chick-fil-A will be metro Atlanta’s 398,687th, give or take.
The Chick-fil-A is being built on Northside Drive, south of 14th Street, at the intersection of Ethel Street, where an office building was recently demolished. Expect exciting double drive-thru access from both directions! The 4,500-square-foot space should be dishing cole slaw and Chick-n-Strips by early December.
Meanwhile, back at Ironworks, home furnishings emporium Dixon Rye is expected to open early next month, followed by Tom+Chee, O-Ku and Villa Savannah in early October. Wildly popular Barcelona expects to open its second Atlanta outpost at Ironworks late this year.
